Knowledge transfer from practice to university - mechanical and industrial engineering students experience lean management at Achenbach

The forward-looking cooperation between industry and university for the education and training of tomorrow's skilled workers is an important priority at Achenbach. Therefore, for some students of mechanical and industrial engineering from Siegen, it was finally time again for "Lean Management from theory into practice" at Achenbach Buschhütten. For this purpose, the Achenbach Lean Team, including Dr.-Ing. Eur. Erg. Mario Penzkofer, Nico Müller, and Dr.-Ing. Eur. Erg. Sandra Groos, invited the Lean Management course of Nils Darwin Abele from the Chair of Industrial Science/Ergonomics at the Universität Siegen to the premises of the Campus Buschhütten.

Compact lectures deepened the theoretical knowledge of the students and were then coupled with practical units, which produced many aha moments. The day was rounded off by a plant tour that gave the students the opportunity to get to know the production at Achenbach and the Achenbach products better.

The feedback was positive throughout and the Lean team is looking forward to welcoming some students at Achenbach again next year.
